Natural Disasters !
✧
The nation is the flattest country on Earth, and it is made up of 99 percent water and 1 percent land, making it extremely vulnerable to natural hazards, including tsunamis, floods, intense winds and rising sea levels.Maldives is one of the lowest countries in the world. In recent years, many inhabited islands in the Maldives have experienced severe weather events such as strong winds, flooding, rough seas, and storm surges resulting in severe beach erosion hazards and coastal infrastructure damage.

Climate & Climate change !
✧

The Maldives has two distinct seasons. The southwest monsoon (wet-season) normally extends from mid-May to November. The northeast monsoon (dry-season) extends from January to March. The average annual temperature varies from 24 to 33 °C. The temperature is constantly high and rarely falls below 25 °C

According to National Geographic, we can expect the oceans to rise between 0.8 and 2 meters by 2100. It is predicted that approximately 77% of Maldives’ land area will be underwater by then as the average height of this country of coral beaches is around 4 feet above sea level, and the highest point in the entire nation is just about 2.4 meters.

The Maldives floating city is under construction to cope with rising sea levels.
